BIOGRAPHY
Ayman Zedani’s (b.1984, Khamis Mushait, KSA) lifelong passion in science and art led him to pursue biomedical science alongside art studies.
Zedani’s work is marked by his inquisitive spirit in pushing the boundaries of unconventional materials in a range of mediums, including installation, sculpture, photography, painting and digital techniques. His projects are informed by abstraction and the complexity of experiential phenomena, such as the reflection of light or the evaporation of water. The nature of representation as it emerges through the manipulation of elements, objects, shapes, and forms defines his experimental attitudes. His works observe the diversity of ideas that can be found through experimentation and repetition, often depicting novel layers within accepted traditions and narratives.
Zedani’s recent projects include non-human-assembly were shown in Sharjah Art Foundation (2018), Sharjah; Khamsa, Institut du Monde Arabe, Paris (2018); Arba’a, Maraya Art Center, Sharjah (2017); Thalatha, Sharjah Art Museum (2017); Tethered organised by TCA, Abu Dhabi (2017).
