Maan Editions Round Two

About Maan

Maan was initiated in response to the magnitude of the current crisis and its impact on the arts community and a continuation of Athr’s support of the art scene and its artists. It is intrinsic to our mission to proactively participate in their sustainability all while making art accessible to a wider audience and triggering change, particularly in times of uncertainty.  Initiated by Athr in cooperation with artists, the production and research fund consists of creating limited edition artworks by established and emerging artists to support fellow practicing artists.

The Promise

Maan pledges 50% of its sales for the first 25 editions of each work to support artistic production and research, after which 25% of sales will be donated. Amounts varying between SAR5,000 - 10,000 will be awarded through an open call process and applications will be reviewed by a jury. Click for details

Supporting Artistic Practices

Funds generated by Maan will be awarded to artists who submit proposals for art production and research. A committee composed of artists and Athr will determine the grants’ values based on a case-by-case analysis of the artists’ proposals and needs. The objectives and criteria of the fundraising will continue to evolve based on local and global circumstances and will be updated here

The Artwork

Each artwork is numbered and comes with a Certificate of Authenticity numbered and signed. Artists will aim to produce the works in Saudi Arabia to support the local production houses and different stakeholders affected by the crisis. Inquire
