Dania Al Saleh’s work is centered on the use of geometry as an elevated communicative tool; a dimension that beautifies the written word, whilst simply contextualizing the truth behind the meaning of the thought intended. In presenting this dynamic selection of work, Athr aims to continue showcasing Saudi artistic talent on a global scale. Drawing on Istanbul’s unique geographic location as a gateway between ‘East’ and ‘West’ aids in placing Saudi art on the map regionally, but also on a global stage, giving visitors a further insight into the flourishing grass-roots art scene of Saudi Arabia.
Following on from the success of last year’s exhibit, Athr gallery returns to the Haliç Congress Centre for the second edition of Istanbul’s leading international art fair. Art Istanbul 2014, will bring together 80 international and local galleries in one of the world’s most vibrant destinations for contemporary art. For the second consecutive year, Athr Gallery has been selected by the extensively experienced team at Art Istanbul which includes the co founder Sandy Angus who co-founded ART HK, to join this notable list of galleries that will be participating in the culture rich autumn of contemporary arts in the city of seven hills.
Participating in this year’s gallery exhibit are Ayman Yossri Daydban, Ahmed Mater, Nasser Al Salem,
Arwa Al Naemi and Dania Al Saleh + Guest artist Seckin Pirim.
